With framing complete, our crews are busy roughing in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Thermal and moisture protection on this home is well on its way to completion, with the roof fully installed and sheathing installed. If your home has bargain sheathing, a few years down the road you'll be left with an expensive repair bill. Affordable housing shouldn't push costs down the road in the form of delayed expenses on things like water damage, so we use ZIP system sheathing to protect your investment.
Next door to 5028 Fontana, you'll find something a little different. Still based on our Lela plan, but with a twist, our vision is that this home will have a bit more of a modern look when it's finished. This week roof trusses went up!

Our heavy machine operator is excavating a trench to run our electrical wires from house to the power pole. Running power lines underground looks better and gives your power less exposure to things like falling limbs and ice. While we can't do anything about where the power company decides to run its power lines, Katanic Built runs is power lines underground whenever possible!

Affordable housing is hard to come by these days and has a bad rep. Affordable usually means second rate. Katanic Built has set out to change that. Obviously, there will always be compromises when it comes to lowering costs, but we've set out to find ways to minimize the impact of things like less square footage, and we want to set the bar when it comes to the quality of an affordable build.

Initially, we planned to construct a new home on one lot and planned to renovate an existing home on the second lot by opening up the main floor and adding a master suite loft. We drew up plans, took measurements and imagined ways to bring this home back to life.
Upon further inspection of that home, too many problems presented themselves to affordably remodel the existing structure. We shifted to plans for a new build. Building two homes side by side is a practical solution that helps keep costs more affordable. Building affordable housing is one part of our overall company vision.

Our Lela Floorplan has been popular with buyers, so we turned our focus to adapting it to the specific needs of this lot. General Contractor, Don Katanic, who with his 30+ years experience in home construction, worked with directly with our architect, Kara, to achieve a floorplan that feels open and spacious, allows for some of the most buyer requested features we get, all while finding cost savings without compromising build quality.
