Every Katanic Built home that does not have a basement gets a storm shelter, whether it was a new built or a renovation.  We also recommend these shelters to clients who hire us to remodel their homes but don't currently have a storm shelter solution.

This is a below ground shelter from a reputable storm shelter manufacturer designed to protect 4-6 people. It has a door that locks down from the inside, but  the shelter is accessed through a flush mounted floor panel inside a closet. 

We hope the new home owner never has to use this shelter, but it gives them peace of mind knowing that they will be protected from things like tornadoes even though the home does not have a basement.
